Distance 1.75 miles, straight line. You can either have a drink at the Anchor Inn, Eling, before you start (or when you get back), or at the Salmon Leap in Totton, at the end of this walk.

The Test Way in Totton is VERY badly signposted. I couldn't find anything to markthe start (or finish): I guess if you're close to the Anchor, you're there. I wish I'd printed this map of the area. As it happens, looking at the map, I think we were on the path, but on the ground it's anyone's guess. If you're looking for a lovely walk, with wide open vistas, don't bother: we only did it for the sake of completeness!

Note: we haven't tried any of the pubs mentioned, as I was on a VERY strict diet during the whole time we did these walks.
